The 25th Anniversary Vancouver Symphony Ball, produced by SLJ Productions, raised more than $925,000 to support programs at the VSO. More than 650 guests guests entered the foyer to the sounds of VSO School of Music students performing, then sipped champagne while checking out silent auction items including a Painted Violin Project of four violins each painted by a different artist. There was also a raffle of a $13,500 Montecristo Mikimoto pearl necklace.

The emcee for the evening was Bard on the Beach’s Christopher Gaze who was followed by a VSO concert conducted by Gordon Gerrard. Between dinner courses, VSO board chair Fred Withers made welcoming remarks. Later in the evening there was dancing to the VSO, the raffle draw and the conclusion of the silent auction.

Almost $10 million has been raised since the first ball in 1991, which has been directly invested back into the performance and music education activities of the VSO.
