Townhomes and penthouse homes at McKinnon by Cressey offer downsizers and new buyers luxurious finishes in private, spacious suites
Downsizers and new buyers see Vancouver’s Westside as an ideal location for their next home. There is a luxurious new development breaking ground at West Boulevard and 47th Avenue in Kerrisdale — one of the most established and sought-after neighbourhoods in the Lower Mainland — and it’s creating a lot of buzz.

Each home includes wide-plank engineered hardwood floors, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, marble backsplashes, quartz countertops and islands, and master ensuite spa-inspired bathrooms with freestanding soaker tubs surrounded by floor-to-ceiling marble tile.
In keeping with the kitchen as the heart of the home, McKinnon showcases one of the largest, most functional CresseyKitchens ever built. “Cressey has perfected the CresseyKitchen,” says Scott Trepp, principal at Scott Trepp Design. “In McKinnon, they’ve extended the circulation path to create a much larger kitchen. Vancouverites are increasingly attracted to the townhome lifestyle as a middle ground between their current single-family, detached homes and condo living. Michael Ferreira, managing principal at Urban Analytics, a real estate and urban planning consultant firm, agrees. “Many active downsizers simply aren’t ready for the condo lifestyle, they still want that single-family home feel that townhomes provide without all the maintenance,” he says. “And for those moving up from an apartment, single-family houses are simply not affordable. They see townhouses as an attractive alternative.”
Ferreira went on to say that downsizers and new immigrants like the sense of security a townhome provides. “Security is particularly appealing in cases where the father is operating a business outside of Vancouver and the mother and children are often alone,” says Ferreira.
It seems the trend towards townhomes is one that will only increase with time. Cressey understands that well.
