West Kelowna Continues to Grow into 2020
West Kelowna experienced a strong 2019 with more than $140 million of development in the community—well above its 10-year average that brought on a number of new multi-family, industrial, agricultural and residential developments to the community.
“We continue to see strong interest in our community for inbound investment on a wide range of projects,” says John Perrott, economic development and tourism manager for the City of West Kelowna. “These new developments have been part of our story as one of the steadily growing communities in the province over the last ten years.”
These new developments are helping to support a growing business community. In 2019, the City licensed more than 2,100 businesses to operate in the community, including 400 commercial businesses and 300 industrial businesses. As these businesses continue to grow, entrepreneurs look to the new developments in the community for expanded locations and homes for their staff.
“In West Kelowna, entrepreneurs and investors are finding a great balance between business opportunity and quality of life, making it an easy choice for them on where to invest,” Perrott says.
Looking ahead into 2020, the City continues to welcome new development projects, including the final phases of a multi-phase industrial project, a new 900-unit neighborhood, and a number of new wineries and craft breweries, to the community.
