SenseNet
The startup is the first firm to successfully graduate from the incubation lab
In some ways, it’s a bit unfortunate that SenseNet feels like a very B.C. company, but that’s just the truth.
The Vancouver startup has built what it calls the “most comprehensive wildfire platform on the market.” SenseNet merges data from various sources like sensors, cameras, satellites, weather stations and more to provide insights into early wildfire detection, monitoring and decision-making.
The crew at TiE Incubation Lab was obviously impressed. Launched earlier this year by Maninder Dhaliwal, the first round of TiE Incubation Lab saw over 1,000 applicants.
“TiE was very helpful in providing strategic advice on go to market, product market fit and effective communication with investors,” said SenseNet founder Dr. Hamed Noori in a release. “Their experts have a lot of experience in funding, fundraising and building companies and were able to act as a sounding board.”
Added Dhaliwal: “Seeing the first graduate of TiE Incubation Lab secure $1 million in investment capital and others in the first cohort making great progress towards securing seed funding proves our model works effectively, efficiently and at scale. We’re impressed by the potential of SenseNet and the ingenuity of the founding team, and I’m excited to soon share details on other successful projects from TiE Incubation Lab.”
The second cohort of applications for TiE Incubation Lab is open to Canadian founders until July 31.
