Canada’s most famous astronaut (and social media darling) dropped into the Vancouver Convention Centre this past week.

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, a noted TED speaker, beamed a message from the International Space Station to a group of B.C.’s business leaders gathered to officially weclome TED to Vancouver. He lauded—in both official languages—the tech, entertainment and design conference for its curiosity and relentless exploration, adding that its relocation from California to Vancouver for its 30th anniversary in 2014 and 2015 as well, is a coup for British Columbia and Canada.
