This was a week for rankings by business magazines.

Canadian Business released the 2018 Growth 500, which lists the country’s 500 fastest-growing companies. There were 58 based in Vancouver, which apparently includes Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Port Coquitlam, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and White Rock, according to the magazine. The company topping the list, Article, an online furniture retailer that actually is headquartered in Vancouver, grew 56,581 percent from 2012 to 2017. By comparison, the company ranked second, Toronto-based EdenPark, grew 9,656 percent in the past five years.

On September 9, the Financial Times published its 2018 top 100 Masters in Management programs worldwide. Three Canadian universities made the list, two of them in B.C. UBCs Sauder School of Business came 49th, and the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at UVic is No. 69. The third Canadian school, ranked 53rd, was the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
