More than 170 notable business women, media personalities and female entrepreneurs attended the CKNW Orphans’ Fund Pink Shirt Day anti-bullying ladies luncheon. Emceed by Karen Khunkhun from CFOX and Fiona Forbes from Shaw TV, the event was established to raise money for anti-bullying programs. Prizes were featured along with a live and silent auction.
The event was organized by CKNW Orphans’ Fund executive director Jen Schaeffers and co-chairs Andrea Bava of Bitz Media and Shelley Lyons, Opus Hotel marketing manager. The sold-out event raised over $15,000 and was presented by Coast Capital Savings and hosted by the CKNW Orphans’ Fund. Since 2008, over $650,000 has been raised for anti-bullying programs.
