Canada Wide Media president and publisher Samantha Legge gives an update on the company’s plans during the COVID-19 pandemic

Like you, Canada Wide Media is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our employees, clients, economy and communities across the globe. We understand every business is affected to a degree that is unknown at this time.

With the safety of everyone being our NO. 1 priority, we are changing the way we work to ensure that we continue to deliver, with minimal interruption, the highest quality of publications that you expect from us.

Starting last week, we have closed our offices and most of our employees are working from home to help reduce possible exposure and to slow down the outbreak.

Following the government’s request, we have postponed or cancelled multiple upcoming events in order to flatten the curve and reduce infection. The BCBusiness Women of the Year Awards and Vancouver magazine’s Restaurant Awards have been postponed until the fall, and the BCBusiness Top 100 luncheon has been cancelled for 2020. If you are a sponsor of one of these events, we hope you will continue to support these events when they resume.

In these moments of uncertainty, our focus is to remain nimble and agile to support you and your business. When you are ready, we will support you and be happy to collaborate with you on new, innovative approaches to help your business get back to a sense of normalcy. The April issues of BCBusiness, Western Living and Vancouver magazines are currently on press and you should receive them in the mail soon.

We will continue to publish TV Week every week for as long as our printer and Canada Post are able to deliver and print that publication. We know our readers are depending on us more than ever.

We are currently reviewing the schedule of our publications and client custom publications and the appropriateness of content during this outbreak. We are delaying publication of the May print issues for AwardBCBusiness, Western Living, Western Living Condo and Vancouver magazines.

Our editorial teams are focusing their efforts on our online platforms, and I am proud of their thoughtful coverage of COVID-19. Although we are not a daily news platform, each brand is presenting information in an aligned way that isn’t adding fear or panic to the situation, and highlighting the ways our communities are coming together during this unprecedented time. If you wish to move your advertising dollars to our online platforms during this pandemic, please reach out to your account manager.

As we move forward, we remain at your service and will be in touch as new developments arise. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, suggestions or feedback.

Stay healthy during this time. We look forward to supporting your business again when conditions resume to a new normal.
