More than 400 people attended the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs annual gala, emceed by communications consultant Monika Deol. Guests mingled at the reception and had a chance to bid on silent auction items before dinner, followed by a live auction hosted by The Cupcake Girls.

The Gala raised over $150,000 to support educational and mentorship programming for women entrepreneurs. Through a surprise fundraiser, 11 grants worth $2,500 each were raised to provide women outside of the Lower Mainland with the opportunity to participate in FWE’s E-Series program.

The event featured guest speaker Maxine Clark, the founder of Build-A-Bear Workshop, which today has more than 400 stores worldwide with nearly $400 million in revenue in 2013 and over 125 million stuffed animals sold.
