BC Business
BCBusiness will announce the 2017 30 Under 30 winners on April 13. In the meantime, here's what a 2016 winner had to say last year
To help us choose last year’s 30 Under 30, we sent each candidate a series of questions to see what made them tick. Here’s how Miguel Kudry, founder and CEO of HelpHub Services Inc., responded.
What motivational quote gets you going?“‘You miss 100 per cent of the shots you don’t take.’ —Wayne Gretzky”
Beyond family and friends, who inspires you to succeed?“HelpHub’s users and customers inspire me. Tens of thousands of people are using the product we’ve built to solve a big problem. Millions of people worldwide have the same problem, so succeeding means being able to build something that reaches and positively impacts the lives of every one of those people.”
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?“To not take advice too seriously.”
What’s the worst advice you’ve ever received?“I wouldn’t say any particular piece of advice I’ve received has been the worst’ yet. I probably have taken good advice and turned it into the unintended worst’ outcome. There’s no way to know how good or bad the advice really was. Advice is suggestions; what you do with the advice you receive is entirely up to you.”
What’s your biggest fear?“Roller coasters. I hate roller coasters.”
What’s your biggest regret?“I think my biggest regret is being too self-conscious in high school. I think that’s something that all young people struggle with as they begin to figure out what they want to do. I wish I learned to let go of that fear at an earlier age.”
What’s your favourite TV show right now?“House of Cards. It made me want to learn more about U.S. politics.”
Favourite TV show ever? “Breaking Bad.”
Favourite magazine?“I spend most of my time reading blogs, but if I had to pick a magazine, BCBusiness would definitely be on my list.”
What song is on repeat on your device right now?“Likely something by Adele.”
A little-known fact about me is “I’ve never watched Star Wars.”
Meet the 2017 winners at the 30 Under 30 celebration.
