Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia, the licensing and regulatory body for those professions in B.C., has announced disciplinary hearings for three people related to the 2014 breach of the tailings storage facility at the Mount Polley Mine near Quesnel Lake. 

The three engineers—Laura Fidel, Stephen Rice and Todd Martin—are being accused of alleged negligence or unprofessional conduct that, according to Engineers and Geoscientists BC, had a hand in causing what’s now known as the Mount Polley Mine disaster.
