Real estate sales data for the week of November 10 to 16 sourced from real estate boards across the province by Zolo Realty
Burnaby was the property hot spot last week, with a single-family home selling for $4.28 million
Burnaby took the top spot for the most expensive property sold in B.C. last week, according to data analyzed by Vancouver-based Zolo Realty on behalf of BCBusiness. A single-family home in Buckingham Heights went for almost 92 percent of the $4.68-million list price. One of the big draws was that the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 6,128-square-foot residence is on a 10,232-square-foot lot with parking for six cars and also has a nanny suite with kitchen, laundry, living space and bedroom.
Last week’s second- and third-priciest sales were single-family homes that both fetched full price: $2.5 million in the Central Okanagan and $1.875 million on Salt Spring Island.
Unusually, two townhouses rounded out the top five. A North Vancouver townhouse in the popular Edgemont neighbourhood sold for 93 percent of the $1.749-million list price, while a Victoria townhouse in Rockland got 97 percent of the $1.55-million asking price.
The sellers of a single-family home in Sechelt District on the Sunshine Coast must be relieved: after 554 days on the market, the property finally sold for almost 95 percent of the $664,900 list price.
Despite the previous week’s busy sales activity, more recent results seem to indicate that buyers are starting to wind down for the holidays, observes Zolo director of content Romana King. Only 8 percent of properties went for 100 percent or more of list price. Another 81 percent sold for close to list price (between 90.0 and 99.99 percent).

Sales data was obtained from B.C. real estate boards by Zolo Realty on behalf of BCBusiness. The type of information from each board may vary. Because real estate records are amended and updated daily, information is always changing, and it can take three months or longer to reflect final statistics.
Zolo was launched in Vancouver in 2012 by tech entrepreneurs Ryley Best, who had previously started and sold a U.K online dating site, and Jason Billingsley, who had helped found a business-to-business e-commerce operation. Looking for a new venture, the pair realized that real estate was ripe for disruption. Their primary interest was sales data, but to gain access and monetize it, they needed to be a licensed brokerage. The result was Zolo, headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Regina.
More than six million home shoppers a month start their search on Zolo.ca, which posts real estate tips and timely statistics, too. It also helps owners sell their homes, either on their own or through an agent.
