How Sears’ loss is Sleep Country’s gain

Founded in Vancouver in 1994 but now headquartered in Ontario, Sleep Country recently opened its 250th store. So far the vast majority are in strip malls and power centres, but that is changing. As main shopping centres struggle, their rents are more affordable, plus they no longer include Sears, Sleep Country’s main competitor. Benefitting from the health and wellness trend, the company is rethinking what and where it sells.
