BuildDirect founder pours out his heart over resignation

It is but one man’s account. But founder Jeff Booth’s description on LinkedIn of what brought him to resign from home improvement supply e-tailer Builddirect.com captures all the emotion and drama of entrepreneurship. Booth both rationalizes and blames his decision to take on debt (to help the company’s technology handle the ambition of its service offering) for losing the confidence of Builddirect’s investors and board. Booth has been replaced as CEO by Dan Park, until now the firm’s chief operating officer.
