Telus Night of a Thousand Stars gala raises over $4 million for vital life-saving equipment
The master of ceremonies, Chris Gailus, Global BC anchor
Over 700 invite-only guests attended the Telus Night of A Thousand Stars Gala at Parq Vancouver on November 10. In partnership with VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, the event raised more than $4 million toward a vital new piece of equipment—a 3T MRI machine—as well as other priority programs of Vancouver Coastal Health. The gala’s master of ceremonies was Global BC News anchor Chris Gailus, and the 2018 Leadership Award went to the Gaglardi family for their transformational gift of $25 million in support of the Future of Surgery campaign. Guests bid on silent auction items prior to dinner followed by a raffle and live auction.
VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation is Vancouver Coastal Health’s primary philanthropic partner, raising funds for specialized adult health services and research for all British Columbians. The gala, presented by Capital Direct, raises funds and awareness for hospital facilities while celebrating thousands of health care superstars and the vital work they do.
