The Family Series Legacy Gala 2017 toasts the Legge family with an evening of fine dining and candid conversation

More than 400 members of the business community attended the Family Series Legacy Gala at the Hotel Vancouver on April 27. The evening began with a stand-up cocktail reception before welcoming remarks by emcee Chris Gailus, Global News Hour at 6 anchor. Opening remarks were made by Robert Helsley, dean of UBC Sauder School of Business and Grosvenor professor of cities, and Vanessa M. Strike, CIBC professor in applied business family studies and assistant professor of organizational behaviour and human resources. An interview followed, moderated by David C. Bentall, adjunct professor of UBC Sauder School of Business, featuring Peter Legge, Neil Soper, Karen Foss and Heather Parker. The second half of the evening featured an interview with the Legge family moderated by David C. Bentall and Darren Dahl, senior associate dean and faculty director of the Robert H. Lee Graduate School, UBC Sauder School of Business.

Presented by the UBC Sauder School of Business Families Centre, the Family Legacy Series Gala is a unique opportunity for the business community to gain insight into the inner workings of some of Canada’s most successful businesses and the families who founded them.
