Vancouver Coastal Health nurses implore residents to stay home
Four B.C.-based companies made Glassdoor’s latest annual ranking of the best places to work in Canada, a step up from last year, when three B.C. businesses put in a showing.
The Employees’ Choice Awards uses Glassdoor’s review system to accumulate results, and the top five didn’t hold many surprises.
Tech giants stepped to the front of the line, with Google (No. 1), Microsoft (No. 2) and Apple (No. 4) leading the way. Joining them in the top five are Calgary-based TC Energy Corp. (No. 3) and Toronto insurance company Belairdirect.
Athleisure retailer Lululemon Athletica is the highest-ranking company headquartered in B.C., finishing seventh, with Richmond-based Keg Restaurants (No. 12, a fall from its fourth-place ranking last year), Vancouver Coastal Health (No. 13) and Cactus Club Cafe (No. 23) also making the cut.
It’s the first time that Vancouver Coastal Health has graced the list. The regional authority and Toronto-based SickKids are the only health-care providers to make the ranking after a year in which our medical facilities were under stress like never before.
