According to the Financial Post, Canada should consider deviating from its main partner, the U.S., to secure its own trade partnerships. That means dealing with China, which is quickly becoming the world’s biggest economic power.
But that’s tricky, given that the U.S. and China are embroiled in a trade standoff that has the two countries threatening each other with tariffs.
Is it concerning that Canada is so hesitant to stray from its strong alliance with its southern neighbour? Perhaps growing as a nation means stepping out of America’s shadow.
