WestJet’s new regional service, Encore, announced new service between Vancouver and Terrace
Calgary-based airline WestJet announced on July 22, 2013 new, non-stop service between Vancouver and Terrace. Beginning on November 25, 2013 local WestJetters will be able to book one of two daily flights on a WestJet Q400 NextGen aircraft, with base fares for a one-way trip starting at $99.
This latest addition to WestJet Encore’s portfolio reflects the positive changes happening to the economy in B.C.’s northwest resulting from large investments being made in sectors such as forestry, mining, smelting and hydroelectricity in the Kitimat-Terrace region. “The growth of natural resource and industrial development in this important region of British Columbia is unprecedented,” explains WestJet Executive vice-president, and WestJet Encore president, Ferio Pugliese.
Carman Hendry, manager of the Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat, states that this new partnership with WestJet is “another step in becoming the true Northwest Regional Airport.”
