For the first time in 18 years, the U.S. labour market has reached a record 6.55 million job openings in March, compared with 6.585 million unemployed workers in the same period. The U.S. Labor Department predicts that the numbers could still go up. However, the increase in job vacancies doesn’t necessarily mean a reduction in unemployment rates, due to the lack of relevant skills and personal preferences from the potential employees.
