St. John Ambulance

For more than a century, St. John Ambulance has developed and implemented programs and services to ensure the health and safety of Canadians.

Who we are
Serving Canadians since 1883, St. John Ambulance is one of Canada’s oldest charitable organizations. Today, it delivers first aid and safety training programs and products in 25 branches throughout B.C. and the Yukon. St. John Ambulance provides and coordinates essential community programs and services through a network of committed volunteers. As a not-for-profit organization, it is with the generosity of donors that it can save lives at work, home and play.

What we do
For over a century, St. John Ambulance has been dedicated to one mission: helping communities improve their health, safety and quality of life through first aid, CPR and safety training and community service. These include our Volunteer Medical First Responder, Youth Leadership members and Therapy Dog Programs. In 2013, 2,090 volunteers provided 243,843 hours of community service in B.C. and the Yukon.

First Aid and Safety Training
The instructors, volunteers and staff that make up St. John Ambulance’s workforce provide high-quality first aid training. Under the guidance of a skilled network of medical and health-care professionals, St. John Ambulance has set a national standard for training in first aid, CPR and other life-saving skills.

First Aid and Safety Products
St. John Ambulance has a comprehensive line of products to suit your every need. It provides a complete line of workplace kits that exceed both WorkSafeBC and federal requirements. It also offers other life-saving equipment for the home and workplace, such as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

Community Services
St. John Ambulance’s volunteers serve communities across Canada by providing first aid and emergency response assistance at sporting events, festivals, concerts and many other community gatherings. Likewise, their four-legged volunteers improve the quality of life of people confined to health-care facilities through the Therapy Dog visitation program. St. John Ambulance also actively supports humanitarian relief efforts across Canada and around the world.
