Batiqua
Though its brick-and-mortar shop remains closed for now, the textile maker’s online store, featuring fair-trade, ethically sourced textiles made in Zimbabwe, is open for business. It’s a great source for throw pillows, place mats and table runners alike.
Devi Arts Collective
Devi Arts Collective makes handmade jewelry in their Vancouver studio. They create nature-inspired jewelry using ethically cut gemstones recycled silver and gold. You can find Devi’s products in shops across the city, too.
Ice Kol Kut
Back open again, the Commercial Drive barber has five-star reviews across the board on Yelp.
Karibu Soapz
This local business creates unique, handmade soap bars using natural, locally sourced ingredients. It also incorporates recyclable material like milk cartons and cardboard containers as moulds.
The Lion’s Den Café
The Fraserhood Caribbean restaurant is now open for takeout and is serving up tasty brunch dishes from morning to late afternoon.
Locus Restaurant
This Main Street haunt currently offers takeout and delivery of its traditional pub fare with some interesting twists (think miso poutine).
Sade Thomasos Nutrition
Sade Thomasos bills her business as “trying to helping women become the best versions of themselves. This is not a diet but a lifestyle that allows you to feel more inspired, mindful and intentional.”
Her 12-week program includes one-on-one consultation and meal planning.

Jacques Kabuya, who caters events large and small out of East Vancouver, is happy to customize his service to your needs.
