Driving B.C. forward presented by Dueck GM: Trevor Linden

Trevor Linden returned to hockey as an executive in April of 2014, and continues to give back to the community in various ways; in 2003 Linden received the Order of British Columbia

Through this 12-part series, Dueck GM salutes B.C.’s entrepreneurs who are driving growth and innovation in the local business community. This month’s driving force is hockey legend and accomplished businessman Trevor Linden.

A professional hockey player from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Trevor Linden is one of Canada’s most respected athletes. Throughout his 20-year NHL career, Linden was recognized for his leadership, commitment, talent and character—both on and off the ice. He played in 1506 NHL games, scored 409 goals with 557 assists and was named an NHL all-star in 1991 and 1992.

In addition to his many on-ice accomplishments, Linden was the recipient of many off-ice awards including the Order of British Columbia (2003), in recognition of excellence and lifetime achievement, and the Order of Canada (2010), given in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding dedication to community and service to the nation. His work in the community continues through the Trevor Linden Foundation, which supports youth development programs that encourage young people to discover their strengths and realize
their potential.

Fitness and sport continue to be a big part of Linden’s life. He is an active partner in Club16/Trevor Linden Fitness and enjoys cycling and cross-country skiing.
