My vision for B.C.’s economy (details at www.kevinfalcon.com) is built on my experience as both a cabinet minister and a former small business owner: cutting government red tape; certainty on the HST – getting information to the public for an informed referendum vote and potentially reducing it by two points in the coming years if it is kept; freezing the carbon tax; my Northern Prosperity Agenda, focusing on supporting resource industries in the North and Interior; and keeping government lean and efficient. Each of these will play a big part in building a better B.C.
As premier, I want to capitalize on the tremendous contributions and capacity of our Asian communities. I believe in leveraging those connections to access markets, build business alliances, and identify overseas opportunities.
When the NDP controls B.C.’s economy, we see overregulation, labour laws skewed to the unions who pay their party president, deficits, and mismanagement.
In B.C.’s history, the NDP have only formed government when free enterprisers split their votes. Clearly, our free enterprise coalition between federal Conservatives and federal Liberals works and is key to success in the next election. I have broad support from both Tories and Liberals.
Our party and its leader need support from across B.C., which I have, with endorsements from 15 MLAs. Together with the thousands of new members we are signing up right across the province, I believe I can provide the kind of effective leadership we need in the challenging and exciting years ahead.
We all know that B.C. is a remarkable place to live and do business. Together, I think we can build an even better province.
