In Vancouver, we all know the inspiring story of Brian Scudamore, who with $700 started a junk-hauling business that became 1-800-GOTJUNK?, and today has in excess of $100 million in sales annually. Now, apparently, so do some of the top entrepreneur training operations in North America and the world.

In Vancouver, we all know the inspiring story of Brian Scudamore, who with $700 started a junk-hauling business that became 1-800-GOTJUNK?, and today has in excess of $100 million in sales annually.
Now, apparently, so do some of the top entrepreneur training operations in North America and the world.
Scudamore has been included as an “integral part” of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, an online learning program backed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the world’s largest foundation dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship, and involved in training in 30 countries.
The program uses the firsthand accounts and experiences of successful real-world entrepreneurs like Scudamore who overcame adversity by embracing an entrepreneurial mindset.
To guide students, Scudamore and other entrepreneurs will discuss recognizing opportunities, putting ideas into action, building their brand, and other entrepreneurial issues.
The Ice House program is based on the experience of Clifton Taulbert, a Pulitzer Prize nominee who wrote about lessons learned from his Uncle Cleve, an unlikely African American entrepreneur in the segregated southern United States.
